You like to travel with a check list or you've got just one day to visit the French Riviera? The French Riviera Express private day trip is the solution for you as it gives an extended overview of our stunning region. As per its name, the express private tour means there will be some driving (and fortunately most of it on scenic roads) and the stops at attractions will be rather short in duration. This is how you can get the essential of the French Riviera in a day trip! You will visit Cannes, Antibes, Monaco, Monte-Carlo and Eze village.
COTE D'AZUR or FRENCH RIVIERA ?
The Côte d'Azur means the Blue Coast in French, reflecting the azure blue color of the Mediterranean. The name Côte d'Azur was given to the coast by the writer Stéphen Liégeard in his book, La Côte d’azur, published in 1887. The French Riviera name was used by the British tourists. As early as the 19th century, the British referred to the region as the Riviera or the French Riviera
This private tour on the Côte d'Azur takes you to Antibes via the scenic road along the coast. In the city of Antibes, take your time to walk in the old town and see the largest port for private yachts in Europe. We can also show you the dock of billionaires with some of the most stunning and expensive private yachts in the World. Chill out in the old town of Antibes and enjoy the local food and art market. On the way out of Antibes, we will drive by the Cap d'Antibes peninsula: you will admire the “Billionaires' bay”, named after the luxurious villas constructed around this place.
On this private day trip, we will take you to Cannes, where is located the famous Cannes Film Festival Palace. We will drive on the "Croisette" boulevard with its luxurious shops and five stars hotels. Cannes has become worldwide known thanks to the Cannes Film Festival, which happens every year in May and attracts the most famous artists and producers from the movie and TV industry. Cannes and Côte d'Azur - French Riviera have been hosting also many other artists, including famous painters (Picasso, Chagall).
The French Riviera Express private tour will then take you to the Principality of Monaco, the independent City-State under the Grimaldi rule for more than 700 years. You will visit the Old town of Monaco, where the Palace of the royal family is located. You can also visit the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, where many of the Grimaldi were buried, including Grace Kelly and her husband the Prince Rainier III.
During your private day trip in Monaco, we will continue with the visit of Monte-Carlo, the glamour district of Monaco, with the historical buildings: Hotel de Paris and the Monte-Carlo Casino – the probably the world’s most famous gambling place next to Las Vegas and Macao, dating from the mid-19th century. Be finally driven along the streets of Monaco and Monte-Carlo, where every year the Monte-Carlo Formula One Championship takes place and feel the racing spirit rising in you.
With this private tour to the Côte d'Azur - French Riviera you will also discover the picturesque village of Eze. The village's beginnings date from the 13th century. Tiny and stone paved streets lead to the summit of this medieval village where ruins of the old castle of Eze remain. When walking in Eze, admire the art galleries and the breathtaking views of the Mediterranean sea. The Côte d'Azur - French Riviera region, and particularly the city of Grasse, is worldwide famous for producing perfume, and you can visit the perfume factory in Eze free of charge (optional).
MOYENNE CORNICHE ROAD
When touring around this area, you can't miss the drive along the Moyenne Corniche road, located between Nice and Monaco. This road has often been used by movie directors (remember the older James Bond series, Ronin or the more recent, Transporter series). All along this road, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the French Riviera, the peninsula of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat and the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer. You can ask us to stop whenever you want to take scenic pictures.
The French Riviera Express (9h) gives you the aperçu of the French Riviera in a day trip (quite rushy). It's good for those who wish to check most attractions in one day. If you want to discover the French Riviera in a more detailed way and at slower pace, then book with us two separate private tours as we offer:
"We booked four private tours and two private airport transfers. We enjoyed it a lot and were very satisfied. ... We’ve done many private tours before in different countries. This was certainly one of the best."
